Lochcarron
Whilst not as well known as Ullapool, Gairloch and Plockton, Lochcarron is nevertheless one of the hidden gems of Wester Ross.
Located to the south of the area, the village stretches along the north shore of the sea loch of the same name and provides a perfect base for exploring the unsurpassed beauty of Wester Ross. If you are not sure where we are, our access map will help you to find us.
Lochcarron offers a range of accommodation from hotels, guest houses, self catering cottages and B & Bs. There is a good variety of places to go out for a meal or a drink, catering for pretty well every taste. For those who play golf Lochcarron has a 9-hole course in a superb loch-side location and visitors are always very welcome. For railway enthusiasts we have the famous Kyle Line which runs from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh and which featured as one of Michael Palin's "Great Railway Journeys of the World".
More recently, this beautiful part of Wester Ross with its magnificent scenery has featured in the "Monty Halls' Great Escape" series on BBC2 television
