The Highland Museum of Childhood is located in the old railway station in the spa village of Strathpeffer. The museum was originally based on the doll and toy collection of former Strathpeffer resident Mrs Angela Kellie. Over the years though we have collected children’s toys, games, costume, books , photographs and much more. The museum also has an education space and collections store – The Goods Shed – at the end of the platform. Built in 2010 it used to run events for schools, families & children and for adult education programmes. If you are interested to find out more about the history of the station view the Railway Station leaflet here railway-station-history-leaflet or visit our Blog The museum is a charitable trust which receives a small amount of funding from the local authority. Most of our income is generated through ticket sales, donations and fundraising.
